"Dr Liaquat Taban and his mysterious world"

At present Dr Liaquat Taban is an important figure in the world of Pashto literature, but how he got a higher position, because he is very young and it is very difficult for a young person to gain top in the world of literature? It is also hard , challenging and crucial for a new comer in this painfull and wearisome world to achieve the popularity overnight, but Dr Liaquat Taban proved that it is very easy. Now again the question arises that how and why he proved it and how it became very easy for him. Is he a magician or he has a special magic to it.

Indeed, Doctor got and captured the idea that what is the exact formula for best fiction. So he wrote two novels in his own mother language Pashto and I think the both creations are very successful, outstanding and amazing and I hope very soon the day will come that we see the translation of both creations into Urdu and as well as English languages and the canvas and the scope of his popularity will become larger and greater.

Now it is the important question that what is the quality, distinctive characteristic and main feature of novels by him? Indeed Dr Liaquat Taban shows his genius, when he writes something in fiction.I already told that he knows the nature of excellent and desirable fiction, second it is very clear in his mind that at the time a writer mixes his own experiences in his writing, it adopts a new identity and then due to these experiences ,which he faced in his practical life being a doctor, he can write and introduce a fantastic literature. So for this reason now we see Doctor with a new identity, uniqueness and status in the world of fiction of Pashto literature.

So again the question arises that what is the point of attraction in his novels, because when we study the writings of Charles Dickens, we find the world of merciless caricatures and cartoon like characters here, who mentally and physically torture Dickens heroes, who are the poor and miserable little boys like Pip from the Great expectations and David from the David Copperfield.

Similarly the Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk brings before us the characters from the old Turkish history and we find them very mysterious and strange, here his novel my name is red is a brilliant example and long ago after reading this novel, I also wrote a detailed article over it in the literary magazine "Duniya Zad." Renown and high repute writer and poet Dr. Asif Farrukhi was the editor of this popular magazine and unluckily the magazine has been closed with unknown reasons and a very famous poet late Fahmida Riaz appreciated my this article as well. So the world of Dr Liaquat Taban novels is the world of psychological patients with their typical and different mental diseases and strange attitudes, now these abnormal characters have an attractive world and case history, the doctor makes very brilliantly all the characters as caricatures and bring them before us with interest and attraction, therefore they becomes very effective and inspiring before us.

In fact the world of the Liaquat Taban is a colorful world and we see these colors specially in his travel books. He is the real traveler, who enjoys his each and every travel very much and we can also enjoy and get pleasure from his travels ,when we are reading these journey books.

Dr Liaquat Taban also got popularity in the world of literature from the writing of such different travel books despite fiction writings. At present, he has enjoyed the journey of a lot of countries. All these travels gifted him a vast vision and enormous inner beauty as well. So we also find this vision and beauty in his novels too.

Again, you will ask that what is the specialty of his travel books? If we discuss the various travel book writers. It would be our findings that many writers will be looking for a sense of humor there and due to this sense of humor you would also detect that they are writing their travel books in a very amusing and interesting way like the great travel writer of the Urdu fiction namely Ibn-e-Insha.Here you will also find writers who find a strange girl and while talking to her, their travelogue ends. The travel book by Marco Polo is full of adventures and these adventurers are outstanding, striking, attractive and impressive. Sense of humor and beautiful literary language also exists in the books by Dr. Taban, but the atmosphere in these books is also mysterious and colorful.During his each visit he is visiting the different libraries of a different towns and he tells us that what is the literary background of this country and who are the main and important writers of this land. He always emphasizes on this aspect in all his books and this is the main and special quality of his travelling books.

He is a critic too, and he has written thick and long books criticizing various classic poets. These books also won many prizes and awards. Doctor is a kind hearted, mild and gentle person, he always gives free treatment and financial help to the poor people, which makes his character more ideal.
